The Holy Land Experience
is a 15-acre living, biblical history museum that takes you more than 3000 years back in time to the land of the Bible. It is an educational, inspirational, theatrical and historical presentation. The Holy Land Experience authentically recreates the city of Jerusalem and its religious importance between the years 1450 B.C. and A.D. 66, by blending sights, sounds and tastes that transport guests 7,000 miles away. As soon as you step through the gates of the “walled city,” you will be totally immersed in ancient Jerusalem. At The Holy Land Experience, there are several different exhibits with both indoor and outdoor activities, which are aimed at recreating the time in which Jesus lived. At certain exhibits, no filming or videotaping is permitted, and food and beverages are not permitted to be brought into the park. A limited number of strollers and wheelchairs are available for rental. The Holy Land Experience is open every day of the year, except for Thanksgiving and Christmas, and is located in Orlando, alongside Interstate 4 immediately off the Exit 78 ramp.

The Holy Land Experience Rides and Attractions
The Scriptorium: Center for Biblical Antiquities is one of the most unique attractions at The Holy Land Experience. This 18,000 square-foot, museum, built in fourth-century Byzantine architectural style, houses the finest private collection of authentic biblical artifacts and antiquities in the world. Inside are ancient cuneiform, scrolls, manuscripts and Bibles - many of which are extremely rare or the only known copies in existence. Each treasured piece is exhibited in the historical and geological environment out of which it came.
Exhibits include an exact replica of the Garden Tomb where the body of Jesus Christ was buried. A massive archway is the grand entrance to the Plaza of Nations, which houses the imposing Temple of the Great King, a place held in the highest reverence among the Jewish people. Surrounded by thirty Roman columns with oil lamps burning overhead, the Plaza of Nations is a spectacular sight. A cast of dramatists recount many of the events of the period, and brief, dramatic presentations are presented throughout the day, which are augmented with special music by staff musicians.
There are also a lot of fun activities for children at the Oasis Outpost, including a 25-foot climbing wall. You can also dig for artifacts in a sandy “desert.” Books, videos, games and stuffed animals are available for purchase. The Oasis Palm’s Cafe offers authentic Middle Eastern food, but also hamburgers and hot dogs.
The Holy Land Experience History
The Holy Land Experience opened on February 5, 2001, in conjunction with Zion's Hope, a Protestant and Fundamentalist Christian non-profit organization identifying itself on its website as an "independent, Bible-believing, faith-missionary agency." It is located just five minutes from Disney World and twenty minutes from Orlando International Airport. Marvin Rosenthal, CEO of Zion's Hope, predicted in "A Miracle Blooms in Orlando" that the Holy Land Experience would be "centered in the midst of the number one tourist destination in the world," allowing it "the unique privilege of sharing the gospel with people from all over the earth." It is an extremely popular attraction and usually fills to capacity by noon each day.
